Join Sustainable Sawbridgeworth for a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing - an eye-opening film featuring leading UK scientists who present the latest evidence on the climate and nature crisis, and what it means for all of us. The film explores how these challenges are already affecting our daily lives, including:
Extreme weather Food security Health Cost of living
Based on the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster (featured by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times), the film includes appearances from Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden, and voices from communities across the UK.
After the screening, there will be a short open discussion about what these issues mean for Sawbridgeworth and the practical actions we can take locally, including:
Restoring nature and protecting wildlife habitats
Reducing fossil fuel use by encouraging active travel, public transport and switching to renewable energy
Encouraging more plant-based eating and reducing food waste
Improving home energy efficiency and insulation
Building more resilient communities and strengthening flood defences.
Seats are free but limited so please book in advance. A bar will be available for refreshments. The event is suitable for ages 16+, and doors open at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start.
