Thermal Imaging Camera Loan Scheme

In partnership with East Herts District Council and Hertfordshire County Council, Sustainable Sawbridgeworth offers Thermal Imaging cameras for free loan.  

The loan is for one week (Saturday to Saturday).  The camera is picked up at, and returned to, Sawbridgeworth Library and must be booked at least two days in advance using Eventbrite link below.

The thermal imaging camera can help you to:

• Understand and identify areas where your house is losing heat

• Cut carbon emissions

• Cut bills

• Increase comfort

It can also be used for locating heating pipes and other sources of heat.  The camera is easy to use and about the size of a mobile phone.

Please note that the camera will only be effective for surveying heat losses from the home if the temperature inside is at least 10 degrees Celsius warmer than outside – so if your home’s thermostat is set to 18 degrees Celsius, the outside temperature needs to be 8 degrees Celsius or lower.  If you are using it internally to the house similar guidelines apply.
